Medical gas systems are literally a patients lifeline. These mechanical systems are a fundamental part of any health care facility.
It is of utmost importance to have properly installed and functioning systems within a hospital's operating room, but with the ever changing technological advancement within the health care industry these systems are just as crucial in doctor and dentist offices, outpatient clinics and nursing homes.
Health care administrators are well aware of the significance of these systems and the importance of having the highest skilled craftsmen to perform the installation. Proper training and continual education is the cornerstone of all UA journeymen and apprentice programs.

The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry provides medical gas certification programs in all aspects of medical gas installation. These workers receive at least thirty-two hours of classroom instruction on installation and brazing. These craftsmen receive their official certification by the American Medical Gas Institute (AMGI) or the Piping Industry Progress and Education Trust Fund, per NFPA 99-C standards in installation and brazing.
Through a grant by the United Association and Pennsylvania State Pipe Trades Association this forty foot mobile medical gas trainer is used for the educational benefit of hospitals, medical facilities, medical personnel, design engineers, medical gas installer/brazers, medical gas inspectors and the medical industry. The trainer demonstrates proper medical gas installations and showcases the need to have certified medical gas installer/brazers for the construction of these vital systems.
This medical gas trainer is structured in a way that demonstrates all facets of medical gas installation and the intricacies of the technical systems built within the walls and structures of facilities which is otherwise out of sight.

This trainer was constructed by Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union 354 under
the supervision of Lee P. Dolfi, Training Coordinator and Michael Hudik, certified
